The Jaguar Warrior

Behold! The Jaguar Warrior comes
from the bloody battle with the Phantoms.
His amazing tale is so long
that it can be made into a song.

In the jungles of the Aztecs
he grew up like a kite
independent in the country of Mex.
At fifteen, he had to learn to fight.

He started with a short sword,
with great prowess, he crushed the practice board.
Next he toyed with the shield,
and now possessed all the power it could wield.

But then, the Phantoms attacked,
the town of Guadalajara they sacked.
His training was not complete,
but still, he was made a part of the fleet.

To the Phantoms' base his army raced.
This challenge was far bigger than they had ever faced.
Of their arrival, the Phantoms beforehand knew.
And they had plans to leave not even a few.

The brutal battle started
and raged on for weeks.
The besieged battlefield was filled
with horrid moans and shrieks.

Now only a few were left,
fighting with all their might.
Overcome with emotion, the Jaguar Warrior leapt,
he killed all Phantoms at first sight.

The battle had finally ended.
The threat of the Phantoms had gone.
All the wounds were gradually mended,
and the Aztecs peacefully lived on and on.

PS - Originally written when I was in class IX, as a part of the holiday homework, so that would be around august 2004. I finally found this in the morning lying on my bedroom floor. How it got there, well, I may never get to know that.
